I work on Computational Manufacturing: using geometric deep learning to understand the shape of 3D CAD parts — especially B-Reps — and turn target geometry into CNC programs.
Background
- Grew up in a small town in the Alpine foothills
- Then the cities got bigger — Munich, Singapore, Boston, Zurich.
- Worked in Computational Neuroscience at TUM, Harvard, and ETH, trying to understand how biological systems compute
- Eventually moved from deep learning for biological hardware to deep learning for industrial hardware: Manufacturing
Goal
- Make manufacturing feel like a plug-and-play process
Hardware idea → target geometry → automatically generated CNC program → G-Code → click play → hold the part in your hand.
